    Hi,

I’m a 3rd year student in the pharmacy program and will be leaving for my rotations starting the end of march.

The rent is $487/month with all utilities included.

This is a double room housing on 3rd avenue: it’s separated and the dimensions are 12′ by 11′. The sublet is available 3/19 to 6/30 (flexible). You can renew the lease for the following year if you like, and if you like to switch to the single room, you bypass the lottery.

The house is on 3rd Avenue between Parnassus and Irving. Right next to the medical center. J permit parking is issued by the city for $70/year.

Please email me if you’re interested.

    Thanks,

  6. Hi everyone,

I’m an MS3 with a room for RENT (not sublease) starting March 1. My current roommate is moving out, I am taking her room, and we are renting my former room. The craigslist ad is linked in the URL above. The renter would be taking over my roommate’s portion of the lease, which ends May 31st but is available for renewal or (hopefully) month-to-month after that. There is a $1000 deposit.

Check it out and let me know if you’re interested in taking a look early this week! Sorry for the late notice but I just found out she was moving a few days ago.

Hey I have a room for rent/sublet starting April 1st. I am looking for a like-minded respectful, clean roommate who values communication.
Ideally, I would like to find someone for long term but that’s negotiable and can be rented out in 3 month chunks for those rotating at UCSF

No smoking or drugs. Occasional guests from out-of-town are no problem but definitely do not want someone’s significant other spending the night all the time.

The apartment is one block away from the UCSF Parnassus Campus (literally roll out of bed and go to campus) and is 2 blocks away from Golden Gate Park and one block away from TWO N-Judah MUNI stops. Two blocks from the closest grocery store and less than one away from the laundromat. The unit is very quiet because it does not face the street. There is internet from the landlady and the only other bills are for cable tv and PGE (water/trash taken care of). The spacious room is 12.5ft x 10.5ft and it’s got a built-in shelf/closet on one entire wall so there’s a ton of storage room (refer to photo). Shared bathroom, kitchen and living room.
Might be ideal for temporary stays through to the end of the summer. Room can be furnished with a twin mattress/box spring and/or small desk.

FYI I’ll be asking for references and a credit report and no pets, sorry.
    $950/mo + 1200deposit + utilities (about $30/pp)

There is a smaller room for a little less $$ if interested.

    Seeking sublet!

I’m a second year law student seeking a San Fran sublet from July 1 – August 21 (totally willing to pay for all of August and can be flexible about start/end dates). I’ll be working downtown at the ACLU Immigrants Rights Project which is on Drumm and Sacramento, near the Embarcadero Center — am flexible about price and location!

I would prefer, however, to live alone. I’ll be working a lot and trying to write too, so I’ll probably be at home a bunch. So am looking for a studio or one bedroom. Just to recommend myself: I’m incredibly dorky, clean, very considerate, and quiet. I don’t break stuff. I have all kinds of law school loans in my bank account so I will be good for rent.

    Thanks so much, Ana

I’m an MS3 moving out of an apartment at 2nd and Irving. It’s a 4 bd/ 2 ba flat with a pretty nice living room and an eat-in kitchen, and the rent is 2900. The landlord really wants to fill it with students, so she keeps the rent lower than she needs to. It’s available April 1. Also, if you’re considering moving close to campus for rotations, I highly recommend it. If you do rotations at Parn, it’s super nice to roll out of bed 15 min before you need to be there.

If you’re interested let me know

$750 room for rent in a Victorian flat

One bedroom is available April 1 in a three-bedroom, 1 bath Victorian flat in the Castro district. The room is roughly 11×12 sq ft, and can comfortably fit a queen bed, desk, dresser, and bookshelves. Your room has a spacious closet and you will have an additional closet all to yourself in the living room. The flat itself is spacious and nice, and features hardwood floors, large living room, huge kitchen includes a cute breakfast nook, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and pantry area. Furthermore, our location can’t be beat! We are 1-2.5 blocks from all 5 MUNI underground lines (K/T,L,M,N), the 22, 33, and F-market aboveground lines, Peet’s Coffee, bookstores, shops, restaurants, Safeway, and Walgreens. A five minute walk will get you to Dolores Park. You will share the flat with one guy and one girl (we are a couple). We split utilities three ways (PG&E and high speed internet). We are thinking of getting a kitty.

    We are:
    A girl, 30, UCSF postdoc.
A guy, 26, working EMT and attending paramedic school

    Our ideal roommate:

    Pays rent on time
Keeps common areas tidy and willing to split chores
    Quiet, friendly, mellow, drama-free
    No drugs/smoking/binge drinking
    Full time employed or student.
    Likes cats.

Room at Mission Bay available for sublet April-June.

I am leaving the country and am looking for someone to take over my room in a 4-bedroom suite until my lease is up July 1. If you want to stay longer, you can negotiate with the mission bay housing office.

This would be a great option for anyone doing a rotation at SFGH for block 1 of 3rd year or the first couple of 4th year rotations! Unfortunately, you have to be female, as it’s an all-girl suite!

Hi, I’m a first year med student looking to sublet a room in my apartment. The room is available from April 17th to June 15th. Below is a description of the apartment.

This 3rd-floor apartment is only 1 ½ blocks away from the center of Irving street restaurants/shops and 2 ½ blocks away from Golden Gate Park! It’s also 5 blocks (less than a 10 minute walk) to UCSF. For public transportation, the N-Judah and multiple bus stops (6, 43, 44, etc) are only ½ a block away. There’s a small supermarket (Roxy Market) right across the street. Despite being so close to so much, the apartment itself is very quiet—especially the bedrooms.

The complex has an excellent landlord and manager. (I’ve only had to call them to get things fixed once, but they were on top of it immediately). It’s a safe, gated complex, with bike parking downstairs, and 1 garage parking space. Street parking is available (with a J permit from the city parking office). The building has coin laundry and an elevator. There are huge windows in the living room and dining room with lots of sunlight. The apartment has cable and wireless internet.

This is a two-bedroom apartment. One room, fully furnished, is available for sublet from 4/17 to 6/15. Your roomate would be a very nice 26yo female UCSF medical student.

Please email me if you’re interested and I can send you pictures!! Thanks!

    Dear fellow students,

I wanted to let you know about a great opportunity that will be opening up in the spring for free housing in a great house. For the last l8 months my wife and I have been doing a trade with a UCSF faculty couple. In trade for free rent and utilities and free food for the meals we prepare, we help them out with cooking and household chores. There is no heavy cleaning, but we do the grocery shopping and cook 2-4 weekday dinners and occasional guest dinners on the weekends, do weekly laundry and drop off dry-cleaning, etc. The responsibilities are clarified via a one page list.

We have a separate small 2-bedroom suite on the third floor of a beautiful Pacific Heights house with easy street parking. We would love to stay but my wife will soon be working full-time and we won’t have the flexibility needed—this works best for a couple where one isn’t working full-time.

We have enjoyed this, as have over 10 years of ucsf medical students who lived here before us, and we’d like to pass it on to someone who would appreciate this unique situation. It’s a great way to save money and live in a beautiful area with interesting people while still having your privacy.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please send an email as soon as possible to Nancy Adler at Nancy.Adler@ucsf.edu and let her know. She can give you more details.

We are looking for a new roommate willing to sign a one-year lease beginning in August. I will be a second year medical student and my roommate will be a third year medical student at UCSF. We are both female, but don’t care if you are a girl or guy. The room is a great deal–this year it was $890/month for your own room, bathroom, private entrance through the garage, AND parking space in the garage. We hope the price won’t go up too much for next year (this year there was a $40 increase per person). The room is downstairs and the rest of the apartment is upstairs with a short stairwell to connect the two living spaces. This allows for both privacy and easy access to common spaces. We live on 7th Avenue (nearest cross street is Lawton), 8 blocks from the Parnassus campus (about a 12 minute walk). We are also within walking distance to the N Judah lines and the Forest Hill station, where you can catch the L,M,K, or T lines. Send us an email for more information and for pictures!

$700 for a room near UCSF

    The Spot:
3 bedroom/2bath (The available room is the smallest of the 3 and you’d be sharing a bathroom with Dave)
Washer and Dryer in the unit – no more rolls of quarters needed!
Huge and inviting living room with fireplace
Close to public trans: Steps away (literally) from the N-Judah and 2-3 blocks from the 71, 43, 6, and a bunch of others.
There’s a shared backyard and Golden Gate Park is only a 5-minute walk away.
Also close to all the 9th and Irving restaurants and a 10-minute walk to UCSF.

    The roommates:
One female (Jenni), one male (Dave), and one gorgeous K-9 (Teva)
Jenni and Dave are both triathletes and both of them are training to do Ironman in November – which means they are super busy.
Jenni, 29, works in publishing downtown, runs back-to-back marathons for fun (they call her the Marathonista), and possesses an enviable knack for languages.
Dave, 34, works in advertising, loves cooking (and does it well), and is a true outdoorsman – hiking, camping, snowboarding, mountain biking, bbqing – you name it and he has the gear for it.
Last but not least – Teva. He loves to be loved and you can’t help, but love him. He’s great company on jogs around the park or walks through the bustling Irving and 9th area – just be prepared for delays from thanking his countless admirers.

Although, everyone is pretty busy, when there’s time we’ll have the occasional game night, dinner, or evening nightcap.

    You:
Someone with either a full-time job or a grad student
Don’t do drugs or smoke tobacco…drinking is totally fine and almost encouraged
Must love/like dogs. Unfortunately, the house cannot accommodate any additional pets.
Also, we love having guests over for dinner or drinks, but not looking for someone who brings the party home every night or has a live-in boyfriend or girlfriend (this does not mean that they can’t sleep over, we just don’t want a fourth roommate)
Preferably someone with some kind of fitness routine
Otherwise not too particular as long as you’re compatible with the house and pay the rent on time

I am a second year UCSF Joint Medical Program student looking to sublet my apartment in Oakland over the summer. My fiance and I are going to rent out the apartment from June 27th to August 17th.

It is a fully furnished 2BR+ top story flat in a duplex with a living room, separate dining room, breakfast nook, and storage room on the first floor. We have washer/dryer in unit. There is a deck off the back with a landscaped yard. There is plenty of light in the apartment and a view of Mt Tam, part of the bay and city. It is located at 61st and Telegraph right next to Bushrod park. Easy street parking (no permit necessary). Rockridge Bart is a 12 minute walk. Close to Whole Foods, not far from Berkeley Bowl, and a short bike ride to the shops of Temescal and Rockridge.

The apartment is $1900/month including utilities and wireless internet. If you would be willing to take care of our lovely cat July we would pay you $125/week, so the rent would be reduced by $500/month.

Subj: Open bedroom with 2 UCSF grad students near Buena Vista Park (middle-Haight neighborhood)

    Hello,

We are 2 incoming female grad students – one of us is starting the UCSF NP progam and the other the UCB/UCSF Joint Medical Program. We’ve just found a nice three bedroom spot on Broderick at Haight, close to the N-Judah and other bus lines, easy to get to UCSF. We have applied and are first in line to get the one-year lease, but we need a third person with good credit to join us asap! The rooms in the apartment are spacious, and it has a nice living room and remodeled kitchen. The rent is $2800 (room prices will be adjusted based on size – the open one will likely be between $925 and $1050), and we’d split utilities. We’re looking for someone clean, considerate, and responsible. The lease starts June 1, so this is a quick turnaround, but it’s a great spot so we’re hoping to snag it!

    $690 / 1br – fully furnished room, incl EVERYTHING,6/13 to 9/22, female only

I’m a UCSF grad student, subletting a fairly spacious room in a 3-br apartment any time between 6/13 to 9/22. It’s near 8th Ave and Judah, only 8 minutes walking distance away from UCSF. The room is fully furnished.

The rent is only $690. EVERYTHING will be included in the rent. Yes, PG&E, internet, water and garbage. The move in cost is the 1st month rent ($690) and deposit ($1000), totaling $1690. You will have to come here to meet us and sign the lease in person.

You will be sharing the kitchen and 1.5 bathrooms with 2 roommates. Both of them are UCSF students or residents, who are quiet and keep a busy schedule outside the house.

We prefer someone who is going to rent the room for at least 3 months during 6/13-9/22 period.

Please don’t bring guests over. No pets or smoking allowed, sorry.

If interested, please write me an email giving a brief description of what you do and why you need the sublet. Photos available upon request.

Hello! I am a Harvard Medical student who will be doing an away rotation (visiting student position) at SF General Hospital from 8/29 – 9/26, looking for a sublet within walking distance to the main hospital.

I am quiet, clean, respectful, and super organized/neat. I would prefer a furnished room since I won’t be buying furniture for just one month. I don’t plan on renting a car for the month either. I don’t ever smoke.

    Thanks,
    Danielle

P.S. If you or someone you know will be doing an away rotation at the Harvard Hospitals that month and would like to SWITCH, I live within walking distance of BWH, BIDMC, and Children’s hospital and near shuttle stop to MGH. I have a double studio with my own bathroom, rent is $1025/month with all utilities including high-speed internet included, laundry and gym in the building (rent is negotiable). My roommate is a quiet and respectful female student at the School of Public Health.

Hey Y’all, i’m a ucsf resident and have a room for rent in my apartment. The apartment is 2 bedroom, 2 private bath (v. hard to find in sf) and comes with a parking space (also hard to find). There is full kitchen, lots of storage, laundry in the building and a pool (for what that’s worth). Location is the inner sunset, near the 9th and Irving restaurants and shops, about a 15 minute walk to UCSF and shuttles, and only 2-3 block to N-judah, 71, 43, 44, 6, and many other buslines. Literally 100 feet from golden gate park, so great for running, picnics, etc.

The room is away from the street and fairly quiet (i’ve never had any trouble sleeping post-call at least).

If you think you might be interested or know someone who needs a room, feel free to shoot me an email at Seth.Berkowitz@ucsf.edu and we can discuss further. Rent is pretty reasonable (by SF standards). Move-in is June 1, and the building doesn’t allow pets, unfortunately.

No smoking, partying or pets. The house is fairly quiet and we hope you keep it that way, too.

If interested, please email mijung123@gmail.com and give a brief description of yourself.

    Hi–
I’m a 4th year at Harvard Med School looking to 1) sublet my great place in a 3-bedroom in Coolidge Corner around 1 mile from the Longwood Medical Area and 2) find a sublet accessible to UCSF for part of that time. Email me at david_gellis@hms.harvard.edu if you are interested in either part of this email, for any part of the times mentioned.

    Boston Apt Available:
    – July 25th thru Nov 30th, flexible, at least 1-2 months preferred
    – On Beacon St in Coolidge Corner–20 min walk to Longwood hospitals, on green line.
    – Huge top floor in 2 floor, 3 bedroom duplex, with own bathroom, walk-in closets, skylights. Great for a couple. Fully furnished (including TV). Heat/electricity/internet included. Back deck with BBQ.
    – Roommates: 2 fellow med students, quiet, respectful, clean, non-smokers. Looking for similar of either gender.
    – Parking potentially available (tandem with other roommate)
    – Rent is 1150 + 150 for parking, but negotiable and potentially a swap situation if you’re leaving a place in SF.

    SF Apartment Sought:
    – Sept 1 thru November 30th, or 1-2 month blocks of that
    – Accessible to Moffit and SFGH. I’m thinking inner sunset, cole, noe, mission are all possibilities. Mission bay?
    – Looking for a place/places that would accommodate my girlfriend and I for the first 3 weeks, then just me for the latter two months.
    – We are both 4th years, doing aways and projects at UCSF. Clean, non-smokers, quiet. Like to cook so a decent kitchen would be cool.
    – No need for parking
    – Rent: Less than 1100 preferred.

    Hey there,

I’m an incoming Masters of Nursing student at UCSF, studying to become a Nurse Practitioner.

I’m looking to go in on a share for a 2 or 3 brm in the Cole Valley neighborhood, which i pretty much think is the greatest neighborhood in San Francisco, not to mention a 5 min walk from campus. I’m very easy going, responsible, over my partying days but still like to go out for a glass of wine, love outdoor/ adventure sports. Liberal, green…and looking for some one similarly minded. Currently work in an ER and free health clinic.

Email if you’d like to meet up and check out some places together. I’m looking for a nice, comfortable place (preferably with a yard). I’m flexible with my budget, but looking to spend around $1000 / mo. With a share, I think your money can go further.

Please get in touch if interested: shana.green@gmail.com

    Thanks for reading,

Summer Sublet in Cole Valley available June 28- August 16 (dates flexible), $950/month, all utilities included.

I live in a big house with a large bedroom on the top floor, with a bedroom view of Buena Vista Park. Room is fully furnished with a queen bed, desk, dresser, and huge closet with tons of shelves and hanging space. I share a bathroom with one female, who is often out of town.

The entire entry-level floor is an open living space with hardwood floors, couches, TV, dining table, and open kitchen. We’re on a hill with an awesome view. Laundry is in the house; no quarters needed. Roommates are very down to earth, clean, quiet professionals (law school grad, doctor, computer programmer), and I’m a female med student.

The 6-bus is around the corner, and gets you to UCSF in 7 minutes. 43-bus is also down the street. The N-Judah is down the hill (less than 10min). Tons of shopping and restaurants on both Haight St and Cole.

I love the house, but I’m going abroad for the summer and would love to sublet to a female, neat, non-smoker.

    Email for more info: erinc21@gmail.com

    Thanks!

Two furnished rooms available in a beautiful home in the Inner Sunset. Our house is newly renovated and has a huge amount of space. The bedrooms overlook a small garden with a lemon tree, birds of paradise, and all sorts of other flowering things. Both rooms are lovely, with good light in the morning and afternoon. The kitchen has all new appliances; the bathrooms are beautiful; and the washer and dryer just make life a little easier.
Easy, non-permit street parking in a safe neighborhood. Irving Street’s shops and restaurants are a few minutes away on foot. Walking distance to UCSF, Golden Gate Park, and Grand View Park and within running/biking distance of Ocean Beach. Close to the N-Judah, and the stop for the #6 Bus that takes you downtown is two blocks from the house.
The rooms are available for sublet from June 25th through August 22nd, though those dates are somewhat flexible. You would be sharing common space with one other female roommate who will be staying for the summer, so we would prefer women subletters. Rent for each room is $1050, all utilities (plus high-speed internet, cable, and DVR) included.
Contact us at kate.chomsky-higgins@ucsf.edu if you are interested. We’ll send photos!

    Thanks!
